About The Division 2
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is an online action role-playing video game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. The game was announced on March 9, 2018, with the first gameplay footage being premiered at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2018 in June 2018.
The beta started on February 7, 2019, and ended four days later on February 11. After that, Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft spent part of the development process revamping the game based on player feedback. Finally, the game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 15, 2019.
On March 17, 2020, the game was launched on Stadia and the Stadia version shares cross-platform play with Microsoft Windows users along with shared progression between those platforms.
The sequel to Tom Clancy’s The Division (2016), Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 received generally favorable reviews from critics. It was also the UK’s best-selling game the week it was released, although its sales figures were 20% of the original game’s launch-week sales.
In addition, this game was nominated for multiple awards, including Game Critics Awards (2018, 2019), Gamers’ Choice Awards, Develop: Star Awards, etc., although it doesn’t win for any of these awards so far.
The Division 2 takes place in Washington D.C. seven months after a deadly virus hit New York City and the rest of the world. When the virus hit, The Division, a unit of civilian sleeper agents, was activated as the last line of defense. Since then, Division agents have been fighting relentlessly to save what remains.
As an experienced agent, the players will be the last hope for a complete disintegration of the opposing camp for control of the city. If Washington, D.C. finally falls, then the entire country will fall.
In the game, players are equipped with different firearms, including assault rifles, sniper rifles and Submachine guns, and explosives like grenades to defeat enemies. These weapons are classified into different tiers and rarity. High-quality guns are difficult to obtain, but they have better weapon stats and “talents” that further help boost players’ performance.
With this game role, players can play solo or co-op with a team of up to 8 players to complete a wide range of activities, from the main campaign (PvE) and adversarial PvP matches to the Dark Zone.
