Is PS4 Emulator Available Now?
The PlayStation 4 (PS4) is an eighth-generation console produced by Sony Computer Entertainment on November 15, 2013. It is the first PlayStation console to use the x86 architecture, a semi-custom 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU at 1.6 GHz.
In addition, the CPU shares its place on an APU chip alongside a semi-custom AMD GCN Radeon GPU supported by 8 GBs of GDDR5 RAM at 2.75 GHz, while 256 MBs of DDR3 RAM is used only for background tasks.
Emulating the PlayStation 4 will prove to be a monumental task owing to the complexity of x86_64 and the Radeon-based GPU. For a long time, the development of PS4 has been unsatisfactory.
Fortunately, there are some PS4 emulators or compatibility layers indeed. They are as follows:
- fpPS4: supports 110 titles.
- psOff: supports 7 titles.
- GPCS4: 2 playable titles.
- Kyty: 2 playable titles.

How to Use fpPS4 to Play a PS4 Game on PC
If you want to play PS4 games on a PC, you can use the Remote Play feature, a video capture card, or the Playstation Now cloud gaming service. In this part, I will show you how to play PS4 games on PC via fpPS4. Here is the guide:
Stage 1. Download Needed Things
In this part, you need to download the 7-ZIP tool and 5 files.
Step 1: Download the 7-ZIP tool because you need to use it to extract files later. Choose the 64-bit x64 version. Then, run the EXE file to install the 7-ZIP tool.
Step 2: Go to the fpPS4’s GitHub page and find Releases in the right section. Under it, click the latest version. Then, click the fpPS4 ZIP to download.
Step 3: Go to the GitHub page of the fpPS4 Temmie’s Launcher to download the latest version of this launcher. Choose the Windows version for downloading.
Step 4: On the GitHub page of the fpPS4 Temmie’s Launcher, click the Code tab and scroll down to find the Manual Installation section. Click the nw.js link to download it.
Step 5: Go to the LibOrbisPkg GitHub page to download the latest version. Choose the PkgEditor to download.
Step 6: Go to the libSceUtils GitHub page to download the latest version. This is the last file you need to download.
Stage 2. Set up fpPS4
In this part, I will show you how to use the downloaded things to set up fpPS4.
Step 1: Create a folder named fpPS4 on your desktop. Drag the Launcher-Windows.zip file into this folder. Right-click on this ZIP file and choose 7-Zip > Extract Here. Double-click the launcher.bat file to run it. Then, the fpPS4 Temmie’s Launcher will open. Close it.
Step 2: Open the fpPS4 > Emu folder and then double-click the fpPS4_v0.0.1.zip file to open it. Drag the fpPS4.exe into the Emu folder.
Step 3: Go back to the fpPS4 folder and drag the nwjs-sdk-v0.70.1-win-x64.zip file into this folder. Use the same way to extract this file here. Now, in the fpPS4 folder, find a folder called lib. If you don’t see it, just create a new folder and rename it lib.
Step 4: Open the fpPS4 > lib folder and then double-click the libSceUtils.zip file to open it. Drag the libSceUtils.a file into the lib folder.
Step 5: Go back to the fpPS4 folder and open the Games folder. Here, you need to create a blank folder for every PS4 ROM you have. Then, right-click the PkgEditor-0.2.231.zip file and choose 7-Zip > Extract to “PkgEditor-0.2.231\”.
Step 6: Open the PkgEditor-0.2.231 folder and double-click the PkgEditor.exe file to run it. Click File > Open and then locate your PS4 ROM file (it should be in the PKG format). Click Export to GP4 Project. Then, select the fpPS4 > Games > Game-Name folder as the destination to save the project.
Step 7: Go back to the fpPS4 folder and re-open the launcher. The game should be listed there. Click the game and click Run fpPS4. The game should run. Note that this emulator only supports Xbox controllers. Now, enjoy your game.
Bonus Tip
If you have many PS4 games to play, I recommend you create a separate partition to store these game files and the emulator. Then, you can try MiniTool Partition Wizard, which can shrink partitions and move them to get enough unallocated space for the new partition.
